F-713 Auxilliary Longeron

I had a hard time figuring out how the F-713 Aux. Longeron attached to the F-704 center section bulkhead. The F-713 looked like a pretty important piece to me. It looks like it carries the downward moment of the engine's weight into the center section but I could not figure out how it attached to the center section without leaving a 1/8" gap between the longeron and the skin.

After posting a note on the RV7and7A Yahoo group, Steve Hurlbut pointed out to me that the F-7101 gear attach plate will attach to both the F-717 and F-713 longerons as well as the center section. It is made of 063 sheet so it would be more that capable of carrying that load. Once again the mailing lists on the internet saved the day. If you are building one of these airplanes and you are not a member of one of the RV mailing lists you are handicapping yourself.

Here is a picture. Pretty simple isn't it.
